About US
Hi, We Are PreaJpride International
Who We Are
The Positive Reestablishment After Jail (PREAJPRIDE) International is an organization Registered in Kenya under the Companies Act, 2015. Our mission is to empower Prisoners, Reentry Citizens their families and society with Christian values and soft skills to deal with poverty, rejection and neglect and therefore avoid the rate of crime and Recidivism for National Development.
Prisons across the country are starting to wake up to the fact that they could change the way they approach their mission so that people leave the prisons better than when they came in! This is a tremendous shift in the mentality of prison personnel and the society at large.
What Do We Do?
PRIDE training is for the People who are transitioning from prison into the community with Entrepreneurship skills to learn how to start their own business. Currently in Kenya, people with a criminal background cannot find employment or are in temporary jobs where they cannot earn enough money to support themselves & their family. PEOPLE REENTERING INTO DOING ENTREPRENEURSHIP (P.R.I.D.E) Program is a 10 week course taught once a week for 2.5 hours. The uniqueness is that the material is 60 % Business Data & 40% life lessons. It covers the following areas: Legal, Accounting, Banking, Insurance Business Plan, Marketing, Sales, QuickBooks Positive Mental Attitude, Soft Skills (Life Lessons). Other programs include; Educational sponsorship, feeding program and Housing facility for “Orphaned” children with parents in prison, a halfway Home for returning skilled ex-convicts due for community entry, its associated industrial complex and vocational school, a mother and child health center, a children’s recreational Centre, an adult education learning Centre and a Christian guest house. This phased inaugural project self sustains after initial capital investment because of its inbuilt income generating capacity. It wins local community support and participation due to its ability to provide employment, training and learning opportunities thereby serving to repair the breech occasioned by imprisonment. It showcases that reformed ex-offenders can contribute positively to national development and that their children and spouses need not suffer neglect and stigma on account of their incarcerated kin.
